Alen Corp is a company out of Austin, Texas that distributes air cleaners. Alen Corp offers 5 hybrid air purifier models. These hybrids combine filtration with ionization. Some also use UV light. While all Alen Corp models are quite efficient at particle removal they do not meet HEPA standards. However, the rating for the HEPA standard is only measured by the filter itself, not the complete unit. It is quite possible these systems are more efficient than stated because of the other technologies working in the purifier.
Alen Corp air cleaners are aesthetically designed with a futuristic look in some of the models. They cost between 29 and 72 cents per square foot of air cleaned per year. They cost between $8614.88 and $21482.40 to clean 3000 square feet over a 10 year period. Most hybrid air purifier systems are generally priced higher than strict filtration or active purification systems. These are middle of the road systems with average cost-benefit value. Consumers generally report positive feedback on these systems. The majority of consumer feedback is positive. Some consumers were concerned about the product being made in China because of product defects at time of delivery.
The best Alen Corp model for most situations is the A350. It is the most economical Alen Air product at 29 cents per square foot of air cleaned per year. It is effective at removing particles from the air. That is all it does. It is not designed to remove odors or destroy biological contamination in the air. Several air purifier models do use UV light. It is my opinion that the strength of these systems is in the particle removal efficiency. It will not provide significant removal of biological contaminants if you use the UV light feature and it will cost you an 20-42 cents more per square foot which can add up quickly. If you are looking for a model that uses UV light, the Paralda is worthy of mention. It has an aesthetic look and design to it that is appealing. It is one of the more costly Alen Air models to use.
The company backs these air purifiers with a limited lifetime warranty. They require you to be on autoship for replacement filters every 6 months if you want the lifetime warranty honored. Otherwise, it's a basic one year warranty. If you buy an Alen Air purifier, this is worth doing. Otherwise, you will likely be looking at replacing these systems every two years.
